Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting for a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure project at the initial design phase. The role coordinates interfaces across track systems, design partners and alliance members, ensuring efficient delivery and compliance with safety and governance requirements.

You will lead spatial coordination, chair coordination meetings, and monitor progress against client requirements and milestones, with offices in London or Birmingham as per

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rail systems design, integration, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience working in contractor-led, design and build or alliance delivery environments.
• Experience in large-scale rail infrastructure programmes.
• Experience managing external design organisations and consultant teams.
• Strong understanding of design management processes in major rail projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical interfaces between Track systems, Main Works Contractors and alliance members.
• Lead spatial coordination of rail systems designs produced by design partners and third parties.
• Chair and facilitate design coordination meetings, workshops and reviews with stakeholders.
• Monitor design progress and ensure delivery in line with client requirements, standards and milestones.
• Coordinate health and safety in design principles across disciplines and ensure governance requirements.
