Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure project. The role supports design integration, interfaces between track systems, contractors and alliance members, and robust design coordination to meet program milestones.

Based in London or Birmingham, you will lead multidisciplinary teams, ensure safety in design, and manage design governance across the alliance while maintaining effective stakeholder engagement and delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership.
• Membership of ICE, IMechE, IET or equivalent professional institution.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical interfaces between Track systems, Main Works Contractors and Alliance members.
• Lead spatial coordination and chair design coordination meetings with stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and ensure design delivery aligns with client requirements and standards.
• Coordinate Health and Safety in Design principles and design assurance activities.
