Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure project at the initial design phase, coordinating interfaces between Track systems, Main Works Contractors, Design Partners and Alliance members. The role will be based at London or Birmingham offices and requires leading multidisciplinary teams across design and safety domains.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rail systems design and integration.
• Experience in contractor-led or alliance delivery environments.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Solid understanding of design management processes in major rail projects.
• Knowledge of health and safety in design principles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate interfaces between track systems, contractors and alliance members.
• Lead spatial coordination of rail systems designs with partners and third parties.
• Chair design coordination meetings, workshops and reviews with stakeholders.
• Monitor design progress and ensure delivery aligns with client requirements and standards.
• Coordinate technical assurance and health & safety in design activities.
