Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure project at the initial design phase. Based in London or Birmingham, you will lead the spatial coordination of rail systems, manage interfaces across the alliance, and drive design governance and safety assurance throughout the programme.

You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, chair coordination meetings, and ensure delivery against client requirements, standards, and milestones.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Chartered Engineer status or progress toward chartership is preferred.
• Membership of ICE, IMechE, or IET is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead spatial coordination of rail systems designs with partners and alliance members.
• Coordinate interfaces between track systems, main works contractors, and design partners.
• Facilitate design coordination meetings, workshops, and reviews with stakeholders.
• Monitor progress to client requirements, standards and milestones.
• Coordinate and promote Health and Safety in Design principles across disciplines.
