Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure project at the initial design phase. Based in London or Birmingham, you will lead multidisciplinary design coordination and manage interfaces between track systems, design partners and alliance members.

You will chair design coordination meetings, drive technical assurance, health and safety in design, and ensure compliance with client standards and milestones.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rail systems design, integration and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience in contractor-led, design-and-build or alliance delivery environments is preferred.
• Experience on large-scale rail infrastructure programmes and managing external design teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical interfaces between Track systems, main works contractors, design partners and alliance members.
• Lead and manage spatial coordination of rail systems designs across partners and third parties.
• Chair and facilitate design coordination meetings, workshops and reviews with stakeholders.
• Monitor design progress and ensure delivery in line with client requirements, standards and milestones.
• Coordinate health and safety in design and drive technical assurance activities.
