Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure project. The role focuses on coordinating interfaces between Track systems, contractors and partners, and leading spatial coordination across design teams to ensure timely delivery.

You will chair design coordination meetings, monitor progress, and uphold design governance and safety standards. Based at project offices in London or Birmingham, with alliance delivery requirements.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rail systems design, integration and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience in contractor-led, design-and-build or alliance delivery environments is preferred.
• Experience working within large-scale rail infrastructure programmes.
• Experience managing external design organisations and consultant teams.
• Strong understanding of design management processes within major rail or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical interfaces between Track systems, Main Works Contractors, Design Partners and Alliance members.
• Lead and manage the spatial coordination of rail systems designs produced by design partners and third parties.
• Chair and facilitate design coordination meetings, workshops and reviews with stakeholders.
• Monitor and report design progress to ensure delivery aligns with client requirements and milestones.
• Coordinate health and safety in design principles across disciplines and ensure CDM compliance.
