Job description

We are seeking qualified and experienced RT Level 2 Technicians to join our team at Howmet Aerospace. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and safety of investment castings. The successful candidate will operate X-ray and gamma radiographic equipment using conventional film and / or non-film digital techniques, interpret results, and ensure compliance with stringent customer specifications. This role operates on a swing shift pattern, 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm.

Environmental, Health & Safety Responsibilities
  • Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet's EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
  • Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Report all job-related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook).
  • Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EH&S training.
Interpersonal Responsibilities

This position has frequented internal contact with Engineering , Quality and other Manufacturing departments.

Essential Job Functions for Radiographers Level 2
  • Sets up and operates 320 KV X-ray units and IR192 Gamma units to radiograph investment castings according to customer requirements.
  • Darkroom operations - Loading film cassettes , basic processor maintenance and cleaning
  • Processing and sorting film.
  • Operate densitometers to verify film densities.
  • Complete records as required for the process which include internal , customer and NADCAP requirements,
  • Must be able to read and follow set up techniques.
  • Interpretation of radiographs and or digital images to determine if castings are free of internal defects per customer requirements.
  • Must be able to read customer acceptance criteria's.
  • Determines if any repairs or rework is necessary.
  • Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Performs other duties assigned by supervision.
