RC Frame Quantity Surveyor - Wigan

Location: Wigan

Salary: £50,000 - £8,000 + package

Your new role

Our client is seeking an experienced RC Frame Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Manchester. Working on projects across the North West and Birmingham, you will be responsible for the financial and contractual management of reinforced concrete and structural packages, ensuring projects deliver optimum commercial value. This is a hands‑on role that requires regular site visits, close collaboration with operational teams, and strong cost‑control and client‑facing skills.

Responsibilities
  • Managing all commercial and financial aspects of RC frame and concrete structure projects.
  • Preparing and managing project budgets, valuations, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Overseeing procurement, tendering, and contract negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Monitoring project costs, variations, and cash flow to ensure profitability and best commercial return.
  • Conducting regular site visits and working closely with project teams to provide commercial insight and ensure alignment with financial targets.
  • Managing interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual terms, company procedures, and health & safety standards.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team as required.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
What you will need to succeed
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within reinforced concrete (RC) frame or civil engineering sectors.
  • Proven experience managing commercial aspects of medium to large-scale RC or structural projects.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control, procurement, and contract administration (JCT or NEC).
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach with the ability to work closely with site teams.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the North West and Birmingham.
