About the Role

We’re supporting a major infrastructure contractor in their search for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their highways division, based out of their South West office and covering projects across the South West and South Wales regions. This is an opportunity to play a key part in the commercial delivery of road, surfacing, and infrastructure schemes – working in a supportive, well‑established commercial team with excellent long‑term progression prospects.

The Role

Reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll oversee the financial and contractual management of multiple civils and highways projects, ensuring strong commercial control and best value are achieved across the portfolio.

  • Recording, monitoring, and reviewing financial performance of contracts
  • Preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment and final accounts
  • Producing monthly CVRs and accurate cost forecasts (internal and client‑facing)
  • Procuring and managing subcontractor accounts
  • Ensuring compliance with company and client commercial processes
  • Managing change control, early warning notices, and compensation events under NEC contracts
  • Securing payments in line with contract terms
About You

We’re looking for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor with experience in highways, road infrastructure, paving, surfacing, or general civil engineering environments.

You'll bring
  • Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
  • Sound commercial and financial acumen
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving ability
  • Confidence working both independently and as part of a wider team
  • Willingness to travel between sites within the region
