Our client is a main contractor with an excellent reputation for looking after their employees and providing opportunities for career growth. They are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a large residential development project, which includes a health centre and school.

Duties
  • Financial cost control of current contracts
  • Financial reporting of current contracts
  • Improving financial return of current contracts
  • Delegation and mentoring of junior staff
  • Cost control of building contracts
  • Providing cost advice to Contracts Managers
  • Purchasing and negotiating Subcontractor orders
  • Monitoring Subcontractor progress and payments
  • Cost reporting and forecasting out-turn costs
  • Client liaison and value forecasting for the client team
  • Maximising monthly cash flows
  • Maximising contract value and profit
  • Monitoring progress of Subcontractor purchasing
  • Managing small teams
  • Mentoring and training team members
  • Setting standards and targets for subordinates
  • Promoting company values
  • Identifying risks and opportunities
  • Prioritising tasks effectively
Requirements
  • Qualified to HNC/Degree level
  • Experience working for a main contractor
