Role Overview

Our client based in West Drayton are looking for a Quality Manager / Product Technologist / Product Compliance Specialist reporting directly to the Managing Director. Safety is their priority, and this role will help maintain our commitment to this as well help our continuous market growth. The Quality Manager / Product Technologist / Product Compliance Specialist will be an experienced, skilled Manager of Compliance management in manufacturing and distribution environments within Far East locations. Candidates will ideally have a broad business experience including quality, product safety, quality, systems & processes, and operational areas in food contact plastics, printing and some textile. An engineering discipline would be advantageous in understanding the product manufacture and the risks associated with product design execution. Responsible for safety, quality, compliance and ethical issues for all items distributed. An opportunity to be directly involved and influence product design working closely with product design at all stages of development. A practical 'hands on' manager able to handle many licensed projects simultaneously, work calmly under pressure whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail and customer attention. Experienced problem solver, able to work effectively to implement practical, effective corrective actions (system and product) improving product and processes.

Key Elements
  • Experience in Consumer Goods is essential and in Child Care food contact articles an advantage.
  • Ensure all products comply with UK and EU regulatory standards (REACH, FCM, EN71), as well as safety, environmental, sustainability, and labelling requirements.
  • Determine product test requirements, collect and verify product specifications, conduct risk assessments and all documentation to maintain required technical files.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations and directives - UK and EU essential including Food contact and new General Product Safety Regulations and some Global preferred.
  • Reviewing all artworks and packaging to ensure accurate and compliant labelling.
  • Work to continually monitor product integrity performance in market and ensure effective & timely actions of unacceptable safety/quality issues.
  • Manage product safety reporting and analysis.
  • Understanding of Technical and Ethical Auditing, to meet our customer needs and maintain HOX Global standards - FCA, SMETA, BSCI are good examples.
  • Introducing and develop Quality Assurance tools within the product design and introduction process.
  • Maintain and continued development of consumer complaint and returns analysis system to be used in Quality Improvement.
  • Oversee inspection criteria at each factory and harmonising Inspection policy, procedure and standards across factories.
  • Maintain and upgrade Company quality manual in line with latest regulations and retailer expectancies.
