Job description

Wednesbury based client requires an experienced Quality Inspector / Engineer to join their quality team. The role is a four‑day working week, Monday to Thursday 6 am to 4.30 pm.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complete first‑off and last‑off checks using mechanical measuring equipment, acting as the release signatory for manufacturing components.
  • Run existing CMM programs on Mitutoyo CNC CMMs.
  • Communicate inspection findings back to engineers clearly and concisely.
  • Read engineering drawings and apply Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
  • Work to inspection plans and use own initiative to solve problems.
  • Collaborate with the quality team.
  • Own the Engineering Change Notification process.
  • Ensure equipment calibration is completed on time.
  • Support Production Engineers in developing high‑accuracy processes and take ownership of the controls section in relation to the Method of Manufacture.
  • Assist Quality Engineers with the creation of inspection plans.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with mechanical measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience running CMM programs desirable (training will be provided if required).
  • Engineering qualification gained through an apprenticeship desirable.
