Job summary

A reliable electronics manufacturer is looking for a Quality Inspector to ensure that all assemblies and products meet IPC-A-610 standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in electronics manufacturing and a strong eye for detail. Responsibilities include visual inspections of PCB assemblies, operating AOI and X-ray equipment, and performing functional checks. This role is on-site in Worthing, offering a steady work environment in manufacturing for high-reliability industries.

Qualifications

Job description
Quality Inspector – Worthing, West Sussex

The Quality Inspector will work closely with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams to ensure all assemblies and finished products meet IPC‑A‑610 and internal quality standards. This role is hands‑on and suited to someone with a strong eye for detail and experience within electronics manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visual inspection of surface‑mount and through‑hole PCB assemblies to IPC‑A‑610 standards.
  • Operate AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) and X‑ray inspection equipment.
  • Carry out first‑off, in‑process, and final inspections of PCBAs, sub‑assemblies, and finished units.
  • Conduct basic functional and dimensional checks using microscopes, callipers, and test jigs.
  • Carry out rework or soldering activities when required.
  • Adhere strictly to ESD procedures and maintain EPA standards.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Quality Inspector or within electronic assembly/manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of PCB assembly processes and electronic components.
  • IPC‑A‑610 certification desirable (training available).
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience with AOI and X‑ray inspection equipment advantageous.
Location
