The Quality Inspector acts as the front line of product assurance, ensuring that only conforming products move forward in the manufacturing process

Our client is a leading manufacturing company based in Newcastle under Lyme. They are constantly growing through innovation and are seeking a Quality Inspector to join their team. The role of the Quality Inspector will be to verify and document the conformity of incoming materials, in-process work, and finished products against approved specifications, drawings, and quality standards. The Quality Inspector acts as the front line of product assurance, ensuring that only conforming products move forward in the manufacturing process, and that evidence of inspection and traceability is maintained in accordance with ISO 9001.

J ob Description for the Quality Inspector role :
  • To ensure that all products are inspected and verified against approved drawings, specifications, and standards before release to the customer
  • To identify, segregate, and document nonconforming products, maintaining proper control and traceability
  • Perform and record inspections at goods-in, in-process, and final stages, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed accurately and on time
  • Supporting factory compliance by maintaining clear inspection records, batch traceability, and verification evidence for audits
  • Providing accurate inspection data and feedback to engineering and quality teams for process and product improvement
  • Undertaking of audit activities of the management system to include pre-audit planning, audit execution and evaluation, post-audit follow-up, including non-conformance reports, and the agreement of corrective actions to prevent further recurrence
  • Report daily, weekly, and monthly on performance in line with KPI’s
  • Demonstrate leadership by consistently upholding and modelling the highest standards of safety, quality, and workplace behaviour, setting a positive example for others to follow
  • Support calibration and verification of inspection tools and gauges to ensure measurement integrity.

For the Quality Inspector role, it would be good to see candidates with :

  • Degree or equivalent in related discipline
  • Green Belt Six Sigma experience is an advantage
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and apply ISO Quality Principles, along with a good understanding of the requirements of ISO 9001.
  • Proven track record in problem-solving.
  • Good reasoning skills combined with perseverance and the ability to overcome objections in the correct manner.
  • Can work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of working unsupervised, and the ability to take ownership of tasks through to completion.
  • Fully competent in modern manufacturing processes.
  • Experienced in continuous quality improvement.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good time management abilities
  • An eye for detail, resilient, and a strong character.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, Friday 7:00 am – 1:00 pm

Salary : £26,000 – £32,000 Per Annum
