Job description

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will oversee all QA functions on site, ensuring products meet stringent regulatory, retailer, and customer requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining our food safety systems, supporting site audits, and driving a culture of continuous improvement across all production areas.

Location & Compensation

Location: Harlow
Salary: £39,500.00 to £45,000
Working hours: Monday to Friday 8 or 9 to 5.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Quality Assurance team, ensuring daily QA activities are effectively managed.
  • Oversee and maintain all food safety and quality management systems (QMS), including HACCP, TACCP/VACCP, GMP, and ISO/BRCGS standards.
  • Manage internal audits and support third‑party, retailer, and regulatory audits.
  • Drive non‑conformance investigations and manage root‑cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure robust documentation, traceability, and compliance with food safety legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Technical, NPD, Engineering, and Senior Leadership teams to embed a strong quality and food safety culture across the site.
  • Analyse quality performance data and highlight trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Act as the key point of contact for customer technical queries and product quality concerns.
Qualifications
  • Solid understanding of food safety standards, HACCP principles, BRCGS, GMP, allergen controls, and retailer requirements.
  • Confident leading audits and managing customer or retailer visits.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across operations and technical teams.
  • A proactive, detail‑focused leader with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Passionate about delivering safe, high‑quality food products and maintaining the highest standards of compliance.
