Overview
Position Summary: This role is responsible for verifying that manufactured products consistently meet the required build quality. Duties cover a range of inspection and audit activities, from incoming goods checks to final product sign-off.
Responsibilities
- Inspect printed circuit board assemblies to advanced industry standards (Class 3).
- Review box-build and mechanical assemblies against customer specifications and drawings.
- Authorize and issue certificates of conformity for completed products.
- Carry out incoming inspections of PCBs, plastics, and fabricated metal components.
- Assess and document returned products, determining necessary repair or rework, and prepare reports for customers.
- Highlight recurring or critical defects to support corrective action.
- Conduct product audits against build instructions and recognized quality standards.
- Record and escalate any non-conformities in line with company processes.
- Verify that production processes are well defined, repeatable, and able to achieve required quality levels.
- Monitor adherence to established procedures, raising improvement opportunities with supervisors and supporting corrective measures, including updates to quality management documentation.
- Operate in full compliance with company quality systems and procedures.
Skills and Experience / Qualifications
- Knowledge of Factory Logix (Aegis) or similar manufacturing execution systems.
- Certification in IPC-A-610 (preferred but not essential).
- Strong understanding of component types and identification.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and customer documentation.
- Awareness of electrostatic discharge (ESD) handling practices.
- Experience preparing First Article Inspection reports (AS9102).
- Familiarity with quality management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Customer-oriented approach.
- Problem-solving mindset with the confidence to challenge issues constructively.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
