Role Profile

Purview Implementation Co‑Ordinator

Division and Directorate: Data & Artificial Intelligence (DDSS)

Location: London / Glasgow / Cardiff

Number of positions: 1 (Permanent)

Approach: External

Purpose

To provide hands‑on administrative and coordination support for the successful implementation of Microsoft Purview at Ofgem. This role will focus on configuration, onboarding, and hands‑on setup of data products and governance artefacts, ensuring alignment with Ofgem's RBAC model and governance framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configuration & Access Management:
    • Assist with Purview configuration, including RBAC roles, domains, and policies.
    • Manage user onboarding and permissions in line with governance standards.
  • Data Product Setup:
    • Manually create and configure data products within Purview.
    • Ensure correct linkage to associated assets and metadata.
  • Metadata & Labelling:
    • Apply meta labels, classifications, and glossary terms to assets.
    • Maintain governance artefacts such as business glossaries and data classifications.
  • Governance Artefact Management:
    • Update and validate metadata and lineage information.
    • Support integration of governance workflows and approval processes.
  • Operational Coordination:
    • Track implementation progress and maintain status reports.
    • Liaise with internal teams to resolve configuration or asset‑related issues.
  • Knowledge Transfer:
    • Document processes and provide clear handover notes for ongoing administration.
Key Outputs and Deliverables
  • Configuration Log:
    Complete record of Purview configuration settings, RBAC roles, and domain structures.
  • Access Management Register:
    Up‑to‑date list of user roles and permissions aligned with governance requirements.
  • Data Product Catalogue:
    Fully configured data products with associated metadata and labels.
  • Governance Artefact Repository:
    Maintained glossary terms, classifications, and metadata applied to assets.
  • Implementation Progress Report:
    Weekly updates on configuration tasks, onboarding status, and outstanding actions.
  • Process Documentation:
    Clear, step‑by‑step guidance for internal teams to continue administration post‑contract.
