Purchasing Administrator

About the Role

VANRATH are delighted to be supporting a well-established manufacturing organisation with the appointment of a Purchasing Administrator. This role sits within a busy procurement function and is well suited to candidates with experience in purchasing administration, supplier coordination, or stock control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Raise and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely approval
  • Maintain supplier records, order logs, stock information and procurement documentation
  • Track order progress, monitor delivery schedules and highlight any risks or delays
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding quotations, lead times, pricing queries and delivery updates
  • Support the procurement inbox and respond promptly to routine internal and external queries
  • Assist with preparing reports, updating spreadsheets and maintaining procurement systems
  • Provide general administrative support including filing, documentation control and meeting coordination
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience within purchasing, procurement support, stock control or a similar administrative role
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP or internal order systems desirable
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
