Overview

Our client, a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, is looking for an experienced Project Officer to join their manufacturing project teams. In this role, the Project Officer will be responsible for delivering missiles and test equipment throughout their product life cycles, ensuring adherence to established project control methodologies. This position involves supporting a variety of deliverables across multiple manufacturing task areas, offering a valuable opportunity for career advancement within the project management field.

Responsibilities
  • As a Project Officer, support various projects and sites as needed, assisting the Heads of Manufacturing and Production Project Managers in delivering tasks.
  • Maintain and regularly report project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Serve as a liaison between Manufacturing to ensure timely program delivery, quality, and cost.
  • Provide, comprehend, and effectively present information during internal reviews and meetings.
  • Support the team in managing risks and opportunities effectively.
  • Assist in compiling estimates and costs related to manufacturing at Completions.
  • Assist in the compilation and analysis of workload forecast.
  • Capable of compiling and maintaining project programs and schedules accurately; demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Maintain and improve the interface with internal customers and external departments.
  • Some travel between sites will be required.
What you need
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and tenacious individual with solid prioritisation and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, strongly, and effectively.
  • Numerate and confident in basic mathematics.
  • Qualified individuals should possess basic project management skills at an assistant level (coordinator or support).
  • Computer literacy skills, including proficiency in MS Word, spreadsheets, presentations, and planning tools (MS Project and Vision).
  • Experience with SAP's materials management system and Primavera 6 planning tool is preferred but optional.
  • Local, job-specific training will be provided as appropriate.
Security Clearance

British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our client’s Security Team.
