Project Manager. Moving up to Contracts Manager. Working with the Construction Director and taking on day-to-day responsibility for 2-3 live residential sites. Expanding Residential developer with projects in S/E London & N/W Kent. Projects to £50m. Private and HA build. £80-85k PAYE neg. + car allowance, fuel, bonus to 15%, 25 days holiday. The role will suit someone who is keen to develop and progress their career.

The Company is an established Builder / Developer trading for over 30 years. Developments include private housing schemes and projects with recognised Housing Associations. The brownfield sites are often a mix of houses and apartments. The apartment buildings range from 3-4 floors to taller schemes of 12 floors plus.

Project Manager. A practical site-based background working as a Site or Project Manager. This role is for someone who is seeking progress into senior management. You will have a minimum of 5-7 years practical site managerial experience in your previous roles. A Construction Management or Project Management qualification would be an advantage. Ongoing employment with a small to medium sized residential builder would be preferred. Would suit a Site / Project Manager who wants to move into a role taking in the overview on a number of sites.

Project Manager Role will include:

  • Working with the Construction director and Site Managers to help programme and co-ordinate works on the various sites.
  • Working with private clients, Local Authorities and Housing Associations.
  • Maintaining project delivery targets.
  • Assisting in the selection and screening of sub-contractors.
  • Ensuring that the developments are run safely and securely.
  • Maintaining a professional approach at all times.

Your Background will ideally include:

  • 5-7 years Residential site managerial experience working for a small / medium sized developer / builder.
  • Clear understanding of construction drawings, specifications and method statements.
  • Relevant Construction certificates and qualifications.
  • Long continuous periods of employment with a contractor.
  • Good written and oral communication.
  • A good understanding of IT and its use in site management.
  • Experience in running HA and private build projects.
  • Previous experience in running sites of 40 plus units.

The Projects. Commencing with demolition and site clearance, taking the schemes through to completion and handover. Traditional build experience is essential, whilst timber frame and RC frame experience would be of value. Many of the brownfield sites are in residential areas, so the usual restrictions apply.

You must be able to read and understand Engineers drawings also be able to programme, plan and co-ordinate the various trades and sub-contractors, whilst planning ahead to organise and organise subbies, plant, labour and materials in time. Strong written and oral communication skills are needed, with IT reporting standard practice on all the sites.

Your background will clearly demonstrate long periods of continuous permanent employment with the same employer. You will probably need at least 6-7 years experience in Site Management to be able to successfully run projects that this company work on. References will be required and will be followed up
