The role

As a Project Manager, you’ll lead and deliver a suite of infrastructure upgrade projects across one of the UK’s most critical naval sites. This is your opportunity to make a tangible impact on national security and defence capability while advancing your career in a dynamic, high-profile environment. You’ll be at the heart of projects that shape the future of our operations, working with cutting‑edge engineering teams and senior stakeholders.

Day‑to‑day, you’ll:
  • Lead and coordinate multiple infrastructure upgrade projects across the Devonport site
  • Manage projects through all lifecycle stages, ensuring scope, schedule and quality standards are met
  • Update and maintain project programmes, tracking progress and adjusting plans as needed
  • Oversee project finances, including budgets, forecasts and cost control measures
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard for 6 months initially with the option to work on a hybrid basis thereafter.

Essential experience of the Project Manager
  • Significant experience in project management and delivering infrastructure projects
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to self‑manage and produce outputs independently
  • Advanced knowledge of APM principles and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging senior stakeholders
  • Proven experience in commercial management, including budgeting and cost control
Qualifications for the Project Manager
  • Degree in engineering, construction, or project‑related discipline
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
