Job Summary

The Project Management team provide organisational support and expertise to the Carallon Engineering department and ensure that departmental projects are managed to a consistently high standard. The team consists of project managers at all levels of seniority - the Project Manager role advertised is an entry level role within the team. The Project Manager will therefore work under the guidance of Senior Project Managers who hold overall responsibility for the management and delivery of designated projects.

As a member of the Project Management team, you will typically be assigned a main project and assist with other smaller or new projects from time to time. It is possible to work on software-only projects or projects which involve both Software and Hardware. You will also be expected to assist with general departmental administrative duties. As an expanding team within the Engineering department we work closely together, and this provides opportunity to learn from colleagues as you develop you career and skillset.

The role is hybrid (4 days in office, 1 remote) with office days based at our head offices in West London. The role is based on 37.5-hour week based around our core office hours which are 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily use of Project management tools (Ticketing systems, GANTT charts, custom templates) to assist Senior Project Managers in monitoring progress against time estimates and agreed budgets
  • Administration of projects tickets in our ticket management system to ensure that tickets are correctly prioritised and categorised and that correct internal processes are followed
  • Ownership of specific sub projects or deliverables, regularly updating Senior project managers on progress and resolving issues
  • Ensure that time logging is kept up to date and accurate for engineers working on assigned projects
  • Aid senior PMs in the preparation, setup, and running of regular internal team and some client meetings and provide cover for holiday and absence as required. Liaise with client or their appointed representatives for effective coordination of work activities
  • Assist Senior Project Managers in the production of accurate documentation for product requirements and product roadmap discussions
Essential Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience in leading teams in dynamic fast-paced environments to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate confidently and maturely with colleagues and clients of all levels of seniority
  • Able to balance initiative-taking within a given remit on projects, seeking advice from seniors when required
  • Proactive in identifying and addressing team and project issues as they arise and a willingness to challenge teams and individuals when needed
  • Strong communication skills and an organised and methodical approach to task prioritisation
  • A foundation knowledge of Product Lifecycle and Software Development Lifecycle Models
  • Experience tracking actuals to agreed budgets and ability to summarise key differences between budget and actuals for cost and labour on a project
  • Intermediate user of core Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Email client, Teams)
  • Written and spoken English to a minimum CEFR level B2
Desirable Experience
  • Recognised Project management qualification at entry level, such as APM PFQ or PMI CAPM
  • A background in or knowledge of the Entertainment Industry or Architectural Lighting
  • Previous experience of ticket tracking systems (YouTrack, JIRA or similar)
  • Understanding of Agile and Waterfall Methodologies
