Job description
Software Project Manager - Part Time

Edinburgh

£50-60,000 (pro rata'ed) + excellent benefits

We’re recruiting on behalf of an innovative tech startup for a part-time Agile Project Manager to help shape delivery of mind-blowing web-based products. This would be 3 days a week on site in gorgeous Edinburgh City Centre offices.

This role suits someone who wants real responsibility and impact, but needs the flexibility of a reduced-hours position. So, it's a rare opportunity to join a small yet world-class tech organisation in a way that can suit the working pattern you need for your own circumstances.

What you’ll do

You’ll be the team’s dedicated Agile practitioner, working alongside engineers and product stakeholders to make delivery smoother, clearer and more consistent. Responsibilities include:

  • Running and improving Agile routines across two small engineering teams.
  • Helping to prioritise work with the Engineering Leadership
  • Facilitating standups, planning sessions, retros and ad-hoc workshops.
  • Making workflow visible and introducing practical, sustainable adjustments to how the teams operate.
  • Coaching and supporting a collaborative, inclusive team culture.

You’ll be expected to work independently, spot what’s working (and what isn’t), and introduce pragmatic changes that the team can adopt.

You’ll fit this role if you:
  • Have hands-on experience guiding software teams using Agile approaches.
  • Can adapt frameworks to suit the team rather than applying rules rigidly.
  • Bring strong facilitation and leadership skills that encourage participation and shared ownership.
  • Are comfortable writing and refining epics and stories with engineers and product staff.
  • Have previous Agile training and/or certification
