Job Description:

Leonardo has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineering Lead to join the NATO JEWCS Project Team within the ISP Line of Business.

The Opportunity:

You will join the engineering team on a permanent basis to cover an exciting and growing Integrated Project Team (IPT), specifically managing the engineering aspects of some key external sub-contractor deliveries along with managing the integration of these assets within the wider system boundary.

The Project Engineering Lead provides the engineering leadership and management in collaboration with the Project Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer and Head of Engineering Projects, to identify, develop, deliver and support the technical solution.

What you’ll bring as a Project Engineering Lead:

As a Project Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for development, maintenance and enhancements of a project reporting in to the Project Engineering Manager.

Typical day to day tasks includes:

• Leading the Engineering aspects of the Project, ensuring technical quality, schedule and budget.
• Management of cross-site, multi-disciplined engineering teams, ensuring that roles within the teams are clearly defined.
• Create a positive working relationship with customers and partners, to deliver project capability.
• Work package management including planning, tracking and reporting of key performance indicators to programme stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain good lines of communication internally across the Engineering IPT, with the IPT lead, Project Manager, functional heads.
• Work closely with the Systems Design Authority ensuring they are fully informed on technical progress, technical risk and any mitigation strategies.
• Ensuring all phases of the programme are subject to Gate and Design reviews in accordance to the Development Plan, and all issues are resolved in an effective manner.
• Ensure the design solution is compatible with the business area route map.
• Ensuring all documentation, specifications and deliverables are managed via a Configuration Management Plan and achieve correct Design Certifications.
• Setting of goals, appraising Engineering staff, and agreeing project specific training needs.

An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
