Role

Project Engineer – AV

Contract Type

Full-time, Permanent

Location

Sunbury‑upon‑Thames ideally, London, or hybrid/remote, with travel to Kinly Offices/customer sites as required.

As our business and client base continues to develop further, we now have a newly created opportunity for an experienced AV Project Engineer to join our team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the duration of projects; work with Project Managers to deliver AV projects that meet scope of works.
• Produce system schematics including audio, video, control, and power.
• Ensure that the equipment specified is correct for the installation.
• Produce rack layouts.
• Coordinate the production of M&E drawings with the CAD team.
• Work closely with project managers and clients to ensure all specified requirements are accounted for.
• Liaise with 3rd party trades/subcontractors to ensure smooth integration.
• Test system racks to ensure they meet requirements; identify and rectify faults prior to shipping.
• Commission equipment, including programming of audio DSPs and setup of digital video/conferencing systems.
• Fault‑find systems and resolve issues related to design and manufacture.
• Provide technical training to the client during project handover.

Skills and experience

• Excellent technical knowledge of AV & VC equipment from all major brands.
• Must be able to produce AV diagrams including control flow diagrams and audio/video components.
• Up‑to‑date understanding of the AV marketplace, including products and trends.
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects.
• Ability to commission control systems and troubleshoot; programming skill is a plus.
• CAD experience is required.
• Knowledge of IT and audio tuning is an advantage.
