Qualifications

Job description

A new opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer is available with my client who are a leading manufacturer of pumps who deliver pump system / pump station projects for water treatment and waste water sites throughout the UK. Their ideal Project Manager will have previous knowledge of overseeing and delivering complex rotating equipment related system projects, engineering or construction projects within water, infrastructure, or mechanical sectors within CDM2015 regulations.

Project Engineer role

The successful Project Engineer will report to the General Manager and be responsible for delivering pump system projects within time and budget and CDM 2015 regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver pump station and pumping station infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain required CDM documentation (Construction Phase Plans, Pre-Construction Information, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Health and Safety Files, etc.).
  • Develop and manage project plans.
  • Coordinate design, procurement, manufacturing, and site installation activities.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and site inspections to monitor progress and compliance.
  • Support tendering processes.
  • Support and develop the team through ongoing training and succession planning.
  • Provide cost‑effective solutions to meet the demand at a profit.
  • Ensure that machinery, equipment, tooling and the working environment is available and properly managed & maintained.
  • Complete/manage site surveys.
  • Drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • 5+ years within a relevant Project Engineer or Project Manager role.
  • Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar.
  • Delivered projects within CDM 2015 regs.
  • Proven experience managing engineering or construction projects within water, infrastructure, or mechanical sectors.
  • Proven understanding of project management methodologies (PRINCE2, APM).
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing and specs.
  • MS Project or equivalent software.
  • Full UK driving license.
