Job description

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Progress Coach to support learners' personal and academic development, wellbeing and retention/attendance. Working closely with faculty teaching and support teams, Safeguarding and Inclusion, you will facilitate a high-quality tutorial programme (both on a one to one and group basis), liaise with learners and their parents/guardians to maximise attendance, contribute to enrichment activities, and provide one-to-one and group mentoring to learners facing challenges to achieving their qualification.

Qualifications
  • You will have an excellent level of basic education and;
  • Hold a minimum relevant Level 3 qualification. If you do not already hold a relevant Level 4 qualification, you may be required to undertake and achieve this during employment.
  • If you do not already hold an Award in Education and Training (AET) qualification, you will be required to undertake and achieve this during employment, within an agreed timescale.
  • Experience of working with learners in a similar role or with learners on a one-to-one basis is essential.
  • Knowledge of PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) or similar programmes would be advantageous.
  • You will be confident to present clearly to both small and large groups of learners
  • You will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. You will also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to set targets and motivate individuals towards achieving agreed goals.

This role is central to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive College environment where every learner can thrive and overcome barriers to achieve their full potential.

Salary: BS22-25 BAR 26-29 (currently £29,440 - £31,878 BAR £32,916 - £36,573 pro rata) Equivalent to £15.30 - £16.57 BAR £17.11 - £19.01 per hour

Hours of Work: 37 hours over 38 weeks (the College's term weeks plus 2 admin weeks) These fractionalised and pro rata posts will be paid in equal amounts over 12 months and will include payment for the pro rata accrued annual leave (as annual leave cannot be taken within the working periods). Please note, this is subject to the commencement date of employment.
