Job description

We are seeking an exceptional Programme Manager to lead large-scale, high-value programme delivery across major NHS and UK Government environments. This role combines both strategic leadership and hands‑on programme ownership, from bid stage through mobilisation and full delivery.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Leading end-to-end bid and tender processes for significant public‑sector transformation programmes.
• Owning major programme delivery from award through execution, ensuring high‑quality governance, commercial control, and operational success.
• Managing complex, multi‑workstream programmes with a Total Contract Value between £40m and £100m.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders across the NHS, Government departments, and partner organisations.
• Driving PMO standards, risk management, resource planning, and benefit realisation.
• Ensuring delivery aligns to contractual, regulatory, and compliance requirements—particularly in sensitive or secure environments.

About You

• Proven track record leading large, complex, multi‑year programmes within NHS or UK Government.
• Strong experience in competitive tendering, bids, commercial negotiation, and programme mobilisation.
• Comfortable operating at executive level with strong governance, financial oversight, and delivery assurance.
• Security Clearance (SC) is highly desirable; candidates must be eligible for clearance as a minimum.
• Excellent communicator, confident leader, and strategic thinker with hands‑on delivery capability.
• Initial contract: 3–6 months, with strong likelihood of extension
• Start: ASAP
• Location: UK‑based, hybrid with some on‑site client engagement
• Day rate: Competitive, dependent on experience
