The Role

We are seeking an experienced Programme Lead for Psychology to lead the delivery and development of Psychology programmes within the School of Health and Sports Science. This senior academic role combines academic leadership, quality assurance and teaching, ensuring an excellent student experience and strong programme performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day delivery of Psychology programmes
  • Enhance teaching, learning and assessment quality
  • Oversee curriculum development and programme enhancement
  • Manage and support academic staff
  • Ensure compliance with academic regulations and quality frameworks
  • Lead recruitment, marketing and external engagement activity
  • Contribute to teaching and UG/PG research supervision
Essential Criteria
  • Experience leading or managing higher education programmes
  • Strong academic leadership, communication and people-management skills
  • Experience in curriculum design, quality assurance and teaching
  • Evidence of research or scholarly activity
  • Commitment to inclusive, student-centred education
  • Willingness to work flexibly across sites
  • Willingness to work towards a PGCE and Fellowship of Advance HE (if not already held)
Desirable
  • Experience with BPS-aligned or BPS-accredited programmes
  • Knowledge of BPS standards and accreditation processes
  • Research outputs or professional practice experience
  • Experience developing external academic or professional networks
