What Will You Be Doing?

The School seeks to recruit a Professor of Law who combines an outstanding research record with the proven ability to deliver the highest standards of legal education to join our thriving academic community. Embracing excellence in all its forms, the School welcomes applications from those with relevant experience of effective teaching and research within Information Technology Law (broadly defined, encompassing AI, innovation, and regulation of these fields).

The successful candidate will be expected to provide strong and effective academic leadership in both research and teaching, with the ability to teach at least one foundational subject.

You Should Apply If

You have research and/or teaching expertise in the area of Information Technology Law (broadly defined and encompassing AI, innovation, and regulation of these fields) and at least one foundational legal subject.

You have the ability to contribute towards teaching in Company Law, which will be advantageous.

You possess a PhD in Law or equivalent, with a strong honours degree at undergraduate level in law or a law-related subject, or equivalent.

You have an outstanding track record of published research, recognised internationally, and predominantly of 3* or 4* quality measured by REF2021 standards, as well as a planned strategy of high-quality publications over a significant future period.

You have experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.

You can demonstrate broad knowledge and deep expertise in your area(s) of scholarship.

You have the ability to carry out academic administrative, managerial, and leadership duties effectively.

You have excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and accessibly.

Full-time post available from 3rd August 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. Part-time requests will be considered.
