A leading food manufacturing company in Tetford is seeking a Production Manager to lead a team across Frying and Prep areas. This role involves ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while managing a budget. The ideal candidate will have FMCG experience, strong communication skills, and a proactive problem-solving approach. The position includes a 4 on, 4 off shift rotation with a competitive pay rate. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role of Production Manager has 3 direct reports and a team of around 55 people across Frying and Prep areas of the factory. This role is to support the shift to enable a safe and efficient working environment, focusing on producing quality products OTIF within agreed budgetary KPI measures.
This role will be on a 4 on, 4 off shift rotation 0500 - 1700.
The rate of pay is £21.42ph - (£44,832)
Whilst this is a role within a very fast-paced environment and is about driving the performance of the factory this is also a role very much about coaching, mentoring and leading your team on shift to be the best that they can be in all elements of H&S, Quality, Efficiency, Cost and Service.

Ensuring that everyone understands and is, at all times, following Quality guidelines and working within our Quality parameters, both for product and area standards.
Effectively and efficiently manage the resources at your disposal, to ensure the best use of people, plant and materials to deliver the best possible results against agreed KPIs.
Supervise the FLMs, giving direction, motivating, coaching and counselling as necessary to encourage them to achieve their performance targets and enable them to conduct this coaching method with their own teams.
People Management includes absence, conduct, performance, training & review periods.
Identify, Coach and Mentor individuals with the potential to work at a higher level and put in place plans to assist their personal development.
Investigate process and quality issues, using problem-solving techniques, as they arise to understand the root cause and provide recommendations/solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
Ensure that an effective communication process is in between shifts to facilitate effective handovers and communications and to promote a ‘one-team mentality across all areas.
Directing the Production teams in continuous improvement initiatives and various projects to deliver sustainable improvements in production performance.
Ensure that Shift Huddles & Tier 1 meetings are conducted daily
Proven FMCG experience within Food Manufacturing ideally in a Shift Manager or Production Manager role. A strong character with excellent communication skills who can engage with their team to drive performance levels.
Self-motivated and resilient with the ability to problem solve and make effective judgements, with a proactive rather than reactive approach and able to work cross functionally.
Lean Manufacturing experience desirable, with a good level of numeracy & IT skills, SAP experience would also be an advantage
