Night Shift Production Manager - Food Manufacturing

Ilminster, Somerset | £43,000-£48,000 DOE | Monday-Thursday | 6pm-4am | Full-Time | Permanent

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Night Shift Production Manager on behalf of a food manufacturing client based in Ilminster, Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to lead night shift operations within a fast-paced FMCG environment, with a strong focus on food safety, hygiene, and continuous improvement.

You will be a key member of the Operations Management team, leading production and hygiene teams to deliver operational excellence and exceed customer expectations.

Key Duties

• Leading night shift production and hygiene teams, coaching and supporting Team Leaders and operatives.
• Optimising the operation of tipping, washing, grading, filling, and packing equipment to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
• Monitoring production processes and implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Driving performance against business KPIs, ensuring targets for safety, quality, delivery, and cost are achieved.
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and compliance across all production areas.
• Managing and embedding change effectively to support business growth and improvement programmes.

Requirements

• Proven leadership and people management experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Strong understanding of food hygiene standards and compliance requirements.
• Positive, proactive problem-solving approach with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Minimum 2 years' management experience in an FMCG environment (preferred).
• Degree-level qualification or NVQ Level 3 (preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and email systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
