Overview

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and develop our manufacturing operations, with a strong preference for candidates from a medical device or similarly regulated manufacturing background.

This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for overseeing manufacturing, planning, output and process control, while ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO standards and quality systems. You will lead a small production team and play a key role in supporting the scale-up of manufacturing to meet increasing customer demand.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be a core member of the Management Team, contributing to strategic planning, operational decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of the manufacturing department.
  • Ensure consistent compliance with ISO standards, quality management systems and regulatory best practices for medical device production.
  • Manage and develop a growing cross-functional production team of around 10 people.
  • Work closely with the Quality team to ensure all standards and requirements are met.
  • Monitor KPIs for product output.
  • Support the quality team with audits, inspections and documentation as required.
  • Contribute to business strategy as part of the Management Team, offering insight on operational priorities and future growth plans.
Role Requirements, Skills & Attributes
  • Significant experience in manufacturing operations within a regulated industry, ideally medical devices (essential).
  • Proven success in leading teams and scaling manufacturing operations within a regulated industry (essential).
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO standards and quality management systems (beneficial but not essential).
  • Hands-on understanding of production planning, process optimisation and core manufacturing principles (essential).
  • Clear, confident communicator with a collaborative and proactive leadership style (essential).
  • Comfortable working in a medium-sized company where flexibility, initiative and ownership are highly valued (essential).
  • A BTEC HNC/HND or a degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Management disciplines (beneficial but not essential).
Location & hours
  • This is a full-time position available immediately based at our factory in Halstead, Essex.
  • Working hours are Monday - Thursday 8:45am – 5:30pm, Friday 8:30am - 1:00pm.
