Job summary

An engineering company based in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler for a permanent position. You will be responsible for assembling hydraulic and mechanical testing machinery, calibrating and servicing the machines, and working from drawings. The ideal candidate should have mechanical assembly experience and strong communication skills. An hourly rate starting at £8.50, increasing to £10.00 upon successful trial completion, is offered, along with excellent working conditions and potential overtime.

Job description

A successful engineering company currently based in Coleshill are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Assembler to join their busy team in the workshop on a permanent basis.

Your duties will include:

  • Assembling hydraulic and mechanical testing machinery
  • Working from drawings and diagrams where required
  • Calibrating and servicing the machines to a high standard (training will be provided in this aspect)
  • Working as part of a team
  • Being flexible to carry out other duties when required

Experience required:

  • Previous mechanical assembly or fitting experience would be beneficial
  • The ability to measure accurately and work from drawings / diagrams and written instructions is preferred
  • Excellent attitude towards working with others in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • A background in engineering or mechanical industries would be beneficial
  • Knowledge and appreciation of working within Health & Safety remits is essential
  • Ability to work using your own initiative is required
  • Knowledge of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and gauges used in calibration would be beneficial but not essential

A permanent position is on offer to the right person, subject to completion of a successful three-month trial period with the company.

The chosen candidate will start on £8.50 Per Hour whilst training moving up to £10.00 Per Hour on completion of your trial period.

Overtime is sometimes available depending on workloads.
