Based in Elstree, you will work on the long‑running, multi‑award‑winning drama series EastEnders and gain insight into all aspects of production.

Your key responsibilities and impact
  • Gain an understanding of the whole production process and experience in a variety of departments
  • Work as a runner on a continuing drama, training with Artists and the 3rd, 2nd & 1st Assistant Directors
  • Assist Coordinators, Scheduling, Locations, Post‑Production and Production Management teams
  • Handle a broad range of tasks and experiences to prepare for a future TV production career
  • Attend learning blocks (up to a week at a time), delivered in‑person or virtually, with our learning provider
  • Progress toward an industry‑recognised Level 3 Production Assistant apprenticeship qualification

Target group: non‑graduates. If you have a degree, consider other BBC careers or apprenticeship schemes.

Eligibility criteria
  • Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship starts in September 2026
  • Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years before the start of the apprenticeship
  • Be legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire apprenticeship duration
  • Not currently enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, either with the BBC or another organisation

No prior learning is required to apply.

Applicants under 19 on 8 September 2026 must have achieved Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent, or National 5 (Scotland) Grade C. If not, they must attain Functional Skills Level 2 before completing the apprenticeship.
