About the Role

Responsible for the design, manufacture, verification and validation, along with through life technical support of board level, sub-system and system level test equipment.

Main Duties
  • Design of functional test equipment
  • Take responsibility for the design and overall quality of the equipment.
  • Documentation of design specifications and implementation details. Take part in design reviews. Uphold design standards and methodologies.
  • Realise complex system requirements to provide robust and reliable test hardware solutions.
  • Responsibility for the complete implementation of detailed technical items and an understanding/appreciation of system level items.
  • Collaborate with other team members (including both hardware and software engineers) to agree system designs, interfaces and protocols.
  • Develop appropriate test hardware and procedures, both informal and formal, to prove the correct operation of hardware.
  • Provide support to manufacturing answering product queries & resolving technical issues.
  • Provide support for the hardware and manage obsolescence throughout its lifecycle.
  • Monitor and report progress of development to immediate supervisor and development team.
  • Proactively support company compliance to Health and Safety legislation through adherence to company policies, processes and practices.
  • Ensure that all business activity is conducted in line with company values, policies and ethics codes of conduct.
  • Undertake any other activity as reasonably requested by management.
  • Apply IPDS Processes.
  • Contribute to engineering specific risks and opportunities.
  • Support Project Gate/Design reviews.
  • Contribute to section/business area resource planning.
  • Identify and engage the appropriate SME's to support the Test Development Engineering activities.
  • Provide engineering interface to external customers/suppliers.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
  • Minimum 2:2 undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering (already achieved or to be completed by 7 September 2026)

  • Flexibility on location and ability to travel to our UK facilities and overseas
  • Excellent STEM skills demonstrated through academic achievement
