Technical and Product Development Manager

Location: Liverpool – Full Time, Office Based in HQ.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical and Product Development Manager to lead the development, management and evolution of Ultracell’s product portfolio. This role combines product strategy with hands‑on leadership of technical and engineering teams, ensuring products are clearly defined, effectively delivered and aligned with both customer needs and business objectives.

This is a full-time, office-based role requiring close collaboration with engineering, compliance, commercial and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and develop the product strategy and roadmap across lead‑acid and lithium battery solutions
  • Lead and support technical and engineering teams, ensuring clear priorities, accountability and alignment
  • Translate market and customer requirements into structured product and technical plans
  • Work closely with compliance and support functions to ensure products meet regulatory, quality and performance standards
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle, from concept and specification through to launch and ongoing optimisation
  • Support internal teams with technical guidance, product knowledge and documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in processes, communication and delivery across the technical function
  • Aid in the tendering process and work closely with compliance and sales
About You
  • Proven experience in a product, engineering or technical leadership role
  • Strong understanding of battery technologies or industrial/energy-related products would be an advantage, or a strong willingness to learn
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and influence technical or engineering teams
  • Comfortable balancing technical detail with commercial and strategic priorities
  • Clear communicator, confident decision-maker and highly organised
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, office-based environment
  • Experience with Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering
