Job summary

A global aerospace leader is seeking a Procurement Category Buyer for a 12-month contract in Belfast. This full-time, on-site position focuses on integrating procurement processes post-acquisition. The ideal candidate will have extensive procurement experience, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to navigate complex environments. In this role, you will ensure compliance, manage supplier relationships, and support change management initiatives. This position includes opportunities for travel within the UK and to Toulouse.

  • £28 per hour via Umbrella
  • Full-time on-site in Belfast working a 35 hour week

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a global aerospace leader undergoing a major transformation following a recent acquisition of the Belfast site. As part of this transition, procurement processes, tools, and governance structures are being integrated into the wider group. To support this journey, they are seeking an Procurement Category Buyer to help align processes, manage supplier relationships, and embed new ways of working across the organisation.

THE PROCUREMENT CATEGORY BUYER ROLE

As an Indirect Procurement Integration Specialist, you will play a key role in harmonising procurement processes following the transition of the Belfast site into the wider business. You will work across sourcing, supplier management, change adoption, and compliance to ensure a smooth and efficient integration.

Key responsibilities include
  • Ensuring procurement compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory standards
  • Building strong transnational relationships with the General Procurement organisation
  • Acting as the link between suppliers and Airbus teams to ensure a unified approach
  • Ensuring suppliers adhere to contractual obligations, including non-quality and delivery performance
  • Managing supplier contracts and leading regular business reviews
  • Executing competitive tenders (CFTs), approving requisitions, and ensuring on-time delivery
  • Supporting and driving change management activities linked to new procurement tools and processes
  • Communicating change effectively, delivering training, and monitoring integration progress
  • Supporting internal stakeholders and managing escalations
  • Able to travel as required
PROCUREMENT CATEGORY BUYER – ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • Procurement experience, ideally within Indirect Procurement
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing ability
  • Experience working in multi-functional, multi-divisional environments
  • Demonstrated change management capability
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, including senior-level engagement
  • Strong commercial, contractual, and financial understanding
  • Fluent / negotiation-level English
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in complex environments
  • Strong networking skills
Desirable Skills
  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline
  • CIPS or equivalent procurement certification
  • Experience in mergers, acquisitions, or post-acquisition integration
  • Experience using SAP, Coupa or similar procurement systems
