Job summary

A leading recruitment company in the UK is seeking a Process Operative for a temporary 12-month contract in Preston. The role involves the operation and setup of equipment, performing inspections, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Competitive pay rates of £19 - £25 per hour are offered.

Job description
Job title – Process Operative

Duration – Temporary 12 month contract

Start date – ASAP (subject to being medically and security cleared)

Shift patterns – 12.5 hour shifts (days &nights) or Double Days (7-3/3-11)

Pay rate – £19 - £25 per hour (PAYE) dependant on role/shift.

Location – Preston, Lancashire, North West

Job Description

The organisation works in a highly regulated environment. Therefore, training will be provided in all areas of work.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the operation and set up of equipment and to make sure they are working in accordance with quality standards, SOPs and production schedules
  • Asset care for machinery
  • Detailed inspection operations
  • Material sampling and/or laboratory operations
  • Manual handling
  • Process monitoring
  • Escalating issues if there is an issue with a process or piece of equipment
Essential skills
  • Able to work to health and safety standards
  • Able to follow written and verbal procedures and ask questions if unsure
  • Experience of working to regulations and/or mandatory operating procedures
  • Experience working in a manufacturing/chemical environment or hands on environment
  • Operating auto and semi auto machinery
  • Worked in a team environment
  • Be able to wear full personal protective equipment
  • Required to undertake security clearance prior to starting, which includes a disclosure and barring service (DBS) check
  • Required to become a monitored worker under the ionising radiation regulations
Desirable skills
  • Experience working in a manufacturing/chemical environment or hands on environment
  • Operating auto and semi auto machinery
  • Worked in a team environment
