Are you a proactive, results-driven professional with an investigative mindset? Do you believe social housing should be reserved for those in genuine need? If so, The Barnet Group invites you to join us as a Proactive Tenancy Fraud Officer for a one year contract.

This is a unique opportunity to work in partnership with the Corporate Anti-Fraud Team (CAFT) to identify and recover properties subject to tenancy fraud, ensuring they are returned to those who truly need them.

The Vacancy

The role of Proactive Tenancy Fraud Officer will be responsible for the delivery of excellent housing management services to all of our customers across a range of tenures including all Barnet Homes properties with a focus on proactively identifying properties subject to potential fraud.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Lead proactive tenancy fraud prevention initiatives across Barnet Homes properties.
  • Conduct tenancy audits and take legal action where necessary.
  • Collaborate with CAFT and other enforcement teams to reduce fraud risk.
  • Use data matching tools to identify irregularities and focus investigations.
  • Support vulnerable residents and contribute to safeguarding efforts.
  • Maintain accurate records and casework systems.
  • Promote fraud awareness across stakeholder services.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience in housing management or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of housing legislation and tenancy enforcement.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and investigative skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence in preparing legal documents and attending court.
  • IT proficiency, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel.
