The Role – Private Client Solicitor

Our client is seeking an experienced and personable Private Client Solicitor to join their established Wills and Probate team. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of private client matters and play an active role in maintaining and growing strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising clients on wills, trusts, powers of attorney, probate, and estate administration.

  • Drafting wills, trust deeds, and related legal documents.

  • Administering estates, including obtaining Grants of Probate and dealing with HMRC for inheritance tax matters.

  • Advising on estate planning and inheritance tax mitigation.

  • Handling Court of Protection work and managing lasting powers of attorney.

  • Meeting clients in person and providing a compassionate, efficient, and professional service.

  • Maintaining accurate and compliant case files in line with firm procedures and SRA requirements.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, local professionals, and colleagues.

  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members when appropriate.

About You
  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in private client work.

  • Strong technical knowledge across wills, probate, trusts, and estate planning.

  • Excellent client‑care and communication skills, with a sensitive and professional approach.

  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work both independently and collaboratively.

  • STEP qualification or a willingness to work towards it would be an advantage.
