A leading engineering firm is seeking a Principal WTG Engineer based in Kingston-upon-Thames. This role involves managing turbine design, controller tuning, and interface with turbine OEMs in offshore wind projects. Candidates should have a Chartered Engineer status with 10-15 years of design experience in offshore wind. Proficiency in engineering software like OrcaFlex, Bladed, and Fast is essential. The position offers a hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey – 3 days per week in office, 2 days per week working from home
A Principal WTG Engineer is required to work on an outside IR35 contract basis based in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey that will offer a hybrid working set up of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days per week working from home.
As the Principal WTG Engineer, you will ideally have experience of engineering software including Bladed, Fast and Orcaflex.
As Principal Engineer you will report to the Floating ILA Engineering Manager within the Offshore Wind business line. You will be responsible for all activities related to turbine design and interface with turbine OEM in offshore wind.
Education: Chartered Engineer (Engineering Degree - Aeronautical degree preferred)
Experience: As the Principal WTG Engineer, you will have 10-15 years in design for offshore wind covering both floating and fixed wind substructures
Technical skills: codes and standards, including DNV and IEC, turbine design, WTG
IT skills: engineering software (OrcaFlex, Bladed, Fast) and MS365
