A leading design, engineering, and project management consultancy, employing over 50,000 professionals globally, is seeking a Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join its Building Design Practice. The successful candidate will be based in the newly established central Manchester office, joining a Building Services team that collaborates across the UK and internationally via a Global Technology Centre. Role Overview The position involves working within a practice of Building Design professionals, delivering engineering design solutions across a variety of sectors. While multi-sector experience is advantageous, particular expertise in Commercial, Defence, Energy, Education, and Healthcare projects would be beneficial.
This is a client-facing role, requiring involvement in both the design and management of projects. It presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to further their career within a highly respected consultancy. The Building Services Engineering team was recently recognised with the "Building Performance Consultancy (over 300 employees)" award at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2025.
Energy and carbon considerations are central to this role. With increasing emphasis on decarbonising the built environment, improving air quality, and implementing energy-efficient design solutions, the team is expanding to meet growing demand for sustainable engineering services.
