Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across water projects in the UK. You will oversee MCCs, LV distribution, cabling, instrumentation, PLCs and SCADA, ensuring designs are safe, compliant and fit for purpose.

You’ll mentor graduates and engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and challenge client specifications to deliver practical, innovative solutions from concept to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Chartered engineer status or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• Experience delivering electrical designs for water-related projects.
• Ability to lead design reviews and ensure compliance with standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design, planning and execution of electrical engineering on projects.
• Provide design support and guidance; ensure designs are fit for purpose and compliant.
• Mentor Graduates and Engineers; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Engage with clients, challenge specifications and deliver practical solutions.
