Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to shape electrical functions across lifecycle projects in the UK water market. You will drive design concepts from concept through commissioning, ensuring safe, compliant solutions and collaboration across disciplines.

You will mentor graduates and engineers, engage with clients, and support delivery of efficient, buildable designs while advancing chartership and professional development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered or incorporated member of professional institution (e.g. IET).
• Experience with wastewater, non-infrastructure or infrastructure projects.
• Experience delivering outputs to design, quality and safety standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical designs for water treatment equipment on client sites.
• Produce and review specifications and procurement documents.
• Understanding, applying and contributing to design standards with client and industry standards.
• Challenge Client specifications and defend solutions to complex problems.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery including standard designs, sustainable solutions and digital tools.
• Act as technical checker on project documents and undertake technical reviews.
• Manage interfaces and integration of the design with other disciplines.
• Proactively seek input from other engineers, specialists, client and project team members.
• Collaborate with commercial and operational teams to develop efficient, safe solutions.
• Mentor graduates and engineers.
• Engage with the client and manage relationships as a one-team approach.
• Undertake site reviews to ensure buildability and integration.
