Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and delivery across water projects in the UK. You will oversee MCCs, LV distribution, Cabling, Instrumentation, PLCs and SCADA, from concept design to commissioning, ensuring compliance with current standards.

You will mentor graduates and engineers, challenge client specifications, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while travelling to sites as required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Chartered member of a professional institution or equivalent experience.
• Experience with water/wastewater projects and delivering high-quality outputs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee electrical design, planning and execution across projects (MCCs, LV, cabling, instrumentation, networks, PLCs, SCADA).
• Provide design support and ensure schemes meet current legislation and standards.
• Act as technical checker and perform design reviews across teams.
• Mentor graduates and engineers, developing knowledge and skills.
• Collaborate with commercial, operations and construction teams to develop safe, practical solutions.
