Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering small to medium-sized projects, leading engineering teams, and ensuring quality and technical excellence in electrical services design.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Managing project finances and resources
  2. Leading and mentoring a team of engineers
  3. Participating in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables
  4. Preparing fee estimates, design programs, and liaising with clients
  5. Conducting quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings
  6. Developing technical specifications
  7. Contributing to engineering budgets and schedules
  8. Using software packages for electrical design, including BIM software
Minimum Requirements:
  • Successful track record in electrical services design
  • Experience as a Senior or Principal Engineer
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IET)
  • Proficiency with electrical design software and BIM
  • Experience in healthcare facility projects (preferred)
Qualifications:
  • Honours degree accredited by CIBSE, IET, or IMechE
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with extensive postgraduate experience
