Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Principal C&I Engineer for an initial 12-month contract based in Barrow-in-Furness. This position involves developing and managing system requirements, producing essential documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and contractual standards. The successful candidate will have expertise in instrumentation, control systems, and electrical circuits design. The role allows for remote work 1-2 days per month, with a competitive hourly rate of £58.58.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in instrumentation and control system theory, particularly PID control.
  • Experience in electrical circuits design and relevant safety standards.
  • Understanding of Safety Integrity Levels and compliance with BS EN standards.

Principal C&I Engineer

Initial 12 Month Contract

1-2 days per month on site (remainder working from home)

Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria

£58.58 Per Hour (Inside IR35)

The Role

  • Develop and manage requirements and acceptance criteria specific to a system or product and/or across a system of systems, platform or programme
  • Understand the contractual and performance requirements for various systems, and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria and events through design, build, integration, installation and commissioning activities
  • Produce documentation required to support the design review process, including: diagrams; technical specifications; supporting calculations; design evidence and justifications
  • Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the requirements management tools and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority
  • Ensure compliance against contractual requirements and that work is undertaken in accordance with company, safety, environmental, contractual and local business processes, standards, procedures and documentation
