A leading health service provider in Scotland is seeking a Clinical Psychologist for a fixed-term contract to provide assessments and interventions for in-patients in the acute mental health wards. The role includes supervising staff, conducting neuropsychological assessments, and contributing to a psychological therapies program. The ideal candidate should have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and experience in acute mental health care. This is an excellent opportunity to impact patient care and support multidisciplinary teams.
This is on a fixed term contract for 3 months
North West area mental health services covers Glasgow City HSCP’s North West Sector. Adult mental health Acute Admission wards, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and rehabilitation wards are based at Gartnavel Royal Hospital. The post holder will be based at Gartnavel Royal Hospital and will provide a service 4 acute inpatient wards and the PICU. This is on a fixed term contract for 3 months.
The in-patient services comprise of multidisciplinary teams who deliver therapies and a therapeutic activity programme to adult inpatients. The North West Area Psychology Service provides psychological services to the adult mental health service network within Glasgow City HSCP’s North West Sector and West Dunbartonshire. The service is responsible for clinical governance, supervision, appraisal and CPD for psychology staff. The department provides a professional structure for psychologists working in primary and secondary care mental health teams, and specialist services, linking the psychologists working across a range of mental health services, ensuring professional needs are met. Staff provide direct clinical services, as well as teaching, training, supervision and consultation to other professionals, and advice in service policy and practice development.
The service provides placements for the University of Glasgow Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course, supervision of students undertaking formal CBT training and other trainees in psychological therapies.
The post holder will provide professional and clinical supervision to qualified Clinical Psychologists, Trainee Clinical Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists, as required. The post holder may be required to provide clinical psychology input across the service area and at different bases, as required.
