Roles & Responsibilities

The Teaching Assistant will be expected to assume high-level support duties, including:

  • IT & Data Support: Assist the Class Teacher with digital record-keeping, inputting assessment data, and managing classroom IT resources efficiently.

  • Test Supervision: Support the invigilation and administration of formal tests and assessments, ensuring accurate and compliant procedures.

  • Advanced Intervention: Lead structured booster groups for high-ability pupils and those requiring targeted academic extension work.

  • Resource Management: Take ownership of the preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of specialist learning resources and equipment.

  • External Liaison: Assist with communicating logistics to external professionals (e.g., therapists, SEND specialists) involved in a pupil's care.

  • Environment Management: Ensure the classroom and shared learning spaces are tidy, safely organised, and visually stimulating at all times.

Requirements

The school expects applicants to demonstrate the following:

  • Qualification: An NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) is essential.

  • Experience: Proven, recent experience working within an academically rigorous primary school setting.

  • IT Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of standard educational software and data input/tracking processes.

  • Subject Knowledge: Confident subject knowledge, particularly in primary Maths and SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar).
